The Trial Court has implemented a new case management system. Access the Odyssey system HERE or using the menu item "Search Cases and Calendars" at the left.
Since implementation of its new case management system, Tyler Technologies’ Odyssey, in October 2014, the Washtenaw County Trial Court now offers an added benefit to members of the Bar. Attorneys now have online internet access to case files, including the ability to perform case and calendar searches and the ability to view and print the documents attached to the case file where the attorney is the attorney of record on the case. To obtain a login and password to the attorney portal, please click on this link Attorney Access. Please be sure to provide your full name and bar number with the request. You will receive an email response with instructions on how to log in to the attorney portal within approximately 2-3 business days.
Open Enrollment Period for Placement on Felony Case - Indigent Defense Attorney Appointment List
As many of you are aware, Washtenaw County is one of the few counties in the State of Michigan to have a Public Defender’s Office. In felony cases with indigent defendants who cannot be represented by that office due to conflicts, the Washtenaw County Trial Court has a two tiered contract system with two local law firms. In some instances, felony defendants conflict through all three agencies and are then assigned to qualified private attorneys in a rotation basis from an approved list.
It has been several years since we have updated the approved list so we are initiating an “Open Enrollment” period from May 1st through May 29th. The application form and the associated Local Administrative Order can be accessed by clicking on this link Application and LAO. All attorneys already on the current list, as well as newly interested candidates, must complete the application and provide the noted proof of liability insurance.
Please feel free to contact Court Administrator Dan Dwyer at 222-3057 or via email at email@example.com with any questions.
