Name Change Petitions are available through the Washtenaw County Clerk of the Court-Court Services main office.

You must be a resident of Washtenaw County for at least one year in order to petition the court for a name change. Children must be over the age of one year to process a last name change.

Submit your completed petition to the main Court Services office in person or by mail. Hours are Monday-Friday 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
